Oh my gosh, she is very beautiful!! I am praying and will continue to pray for this daring girl of yours, asking Our Lady to settle down all the little problems and that she get home to you all, safe and sound.

Keep the prayers coming...I so appreciate them and am humbled and very grateful by this community's faithfulness. Lily is holding her own...she needs a little oxygen here and there, hopefully for just a little while longer until her trach area heals. Her cultures all came back negative for anything scary like MRSA, a nasty staph that is resistant to most antibiotics. We will know more at the beginning of next week, if she needs a g-tube or not. My guess is yes, but we'll see how bottle feeding goes. Between her tiny jaw, tongue that is way back in her throat, and a large cleft palate, breastfeeding isn't going to work well for her (another heartbreaker  ) but I know from past experience with my sweet ds that you can still do attachement parenting with a baby with special needs...breastfeeding and wearing your baby aren't the only ways...clearing their airway several times an hour and holding them all day...feeding them and snuggling even if there is tube there for feeds....they know how much they are loved, my six year old is very well attached  !! I do mourn over the loss of what I "wanted"...holding baby for hours on end, nursing, from the beginning, no big medical interventions...but I do thank GOD she is going to be okay, that God blessed us to do this journey again with a sweet precious baby.....and that I have friends from all over the world who are holding us up in prayer.
I pray for your intentions every day....even if I can't respond to all!
