It appears that all my family has been accounted for.
My brother was the one we were worried about. They have all the cell signals jammed, se we were unable to get through to him.
He had just crossed over the bridge, and when he saw what was happening he stayed to help with rescue efforts. He made it home early this morning.
He lived near Kobe, Japan when they had that terrible earthquake, and he was right in the middle of that rescue effort, too.
My maid of honor is a Paramedic in that area, and she got mandated to go and help. I haven't heard from her since 7:30 last night, but I'm confident that she's okay.

What a horrific tragedy.  I just heard about it now as I turned on my computer, and I came right here to be sure our MN folks were all OK. Praying for all the families involved ...

So good to hear the update on your family Paula - frightening to think how close things were for your brother - he must be very shaken for his close shave and also being close to the the reality of it all in his rescue efforts.
I cross a 3km bridge if I want to reach 'mainland' and so I feel the horrors of this catastrophe and the people reliant on these structures everyday.

Margaret is on vacation in SD, isn't she?
I don't watch the news on TV, so I didn't see that the bridge had collapsed until I looked at the newspaper this morning, and after praying for all involved, I ran into the computer room to see if any of the Minnesota moms here were affected.
May God have mercy... this is just too sad...

My fil was trying to track down dh's MN relatives last night... I haven't heard yet whether everyone is ok or not, but I think my fil would have called if they weren't... So glad to hear that all of yours are ok, Paula!

I knew that she and the kids were on a trip, but I didn't think her husband went too and I didn't know when they were expected to return. Of course, my brain jumps to worst case scenario... what if they were on their way home driving down this stretch of highway?

Happy to hear the good news Paula! We are still praying for the situation.
It is amazing so few died! I always assumed one had very little chance of survival falling from a bridge that size...Praise be to God!

Paula, glad to hear that your family is safe.
This morning they have said the fatalities are listed at 4 but they are still reporting 20-30 people still missing.
