Amy, I don't *think* that you could take too much Vitamin C, unless you have a queasy stomach. You pretty much urinate whatever your body doesn't use. Time-release is better. Years ago, I had a couple of viruses that I didn't handle well. Part of the "remedy" was to take massive amounts of vitamin C -- 10,000mg a day. Of course, I wasn't pregnant at the time.

What about lemons? Have you tried sucking on them to help the cough? Or gargling with warm salt water? Or drinking warm herbal tea?
