It seemed like a no-brainer. If organic really tries to keep pesticides and other chemicals down, I definitely want that choice. When I grow food myself, I do organically. When my supermarket presents a choice, I'll try to go organic. I can't find the list, but just like in Erica's post, I've heard there are certain produce that are better choices (such as strawberries) to do organic than others.

I don't know about your second question...I follow what the laws require on organic, also reading some labels, like Springer Chicken and Laura's lean beef is no longer organic, but it still has less hormones and antibiotics than other brands, so I choose that.

It has to follow the USDA guidelines to be labeled organic. Free range could simply mean that the animals aren't caged up. It doesn't necessarily mean that they weren't injected with hormones or other medicines.
