This seems like such a small request and really it is but I have Plantar Fasciitis in my left foot. The pain is mostly on the bottom of my heel. I have been trying to ignore it but it seems to be getting worse. Limping does not work well for a busy mom - a few prayers are appreciated.

Praying, Michele. I know how painful it can be. Are you stretching?

It is a crippling pain at times, I know. I tried lots of different remedies, but the proper stretches done right and regularly is what finally relieved it!
Prayers!

I have Plantar Fasciitis on my right foot. It can be so painful! Six years ago, after making the mistake of walking on our very uneven path with poor shoes, I was unable to walk with my heel touching the ground for a month (and I was pregnant)! Now I have to wear shoes all the time (easy spirit). I’ll keep you in my prayers.

Two of my friends suffer from this. The right shoes really help them. Praying for you, Michele.

Well no that was part of the trying to ignore it method but it doesn't seem to be working so I am trying the stretches now.
I have had this before but only in pregnancy. It seems I am going to have to get some sensible shoes. I told dh a few weeks ago the part of getting old that I really dislike is having to give up cute shoes!

Michele, I've found it really helpful, when it flares, to stretch before getting out of bed in the morning, and after I climb in at night. As a matter of fact, I try to stretch when I'm sitting too, just to keep from getting too tight.
I also stretch when I'm in the shower, making use of the hot water to soften up the muscles.
And don't give up yet on cute shoes! I'm barefoot most of the time...

Wearing Birkenstocks has really helped me. Must be the arch support. I started with in pregnancy too but now it seems to be here to stay .
Let's pray for each other!

My husband first tried to help me with a pair of really good tennis shoes. I found that while they helped, the pain would still come and go sometimes. It wasn't until I wore Birkenstocks for a whole year that I noticed that the pain hadn't come back. I know they are pricey, but I bought one pair and literally wore them all year (yep, with socks in the winter). I wore the tennis shoes to exercise and a pair of nice shoes to church but I would change as soon as I got home.
That pair of Birke's died here recently. I found a discount shoe place that sold Betulas which are made by Birkenstock and have the same footbed. For the price of the Birke's I got two pair of Betulas and so far, my feet still feel fine. Plus, Betulas come in some really cute styles.
Hope this helps!
