Praise God. Here is today's update:
Kaleb has been awake almost all day!! I got to help give him a bath today.
I GOT TO HEAR KALEB CRY!!!
Not like a Loud, long cry, but def. a short cry. We got good news about the internal bleeding, it is nothing serious. They seem to think that it's from the feeding tube irratating his stomcah. He is moving so much and has had his eyes opened for so long now. I gave him a kiss and he made a noise for me and lifted his hand and it landed on my chest. I am so glad I got to hear and feel him as I did today. He is so Beautiful and such an angel to me.
God showed his presence today. A chaplin that has been coming up here for a while stopped by and sat with us.
Today has been wonderful to me. My faith was renewed even more. Kaleb's strength is being renewed and kindness is being renewed through all of you. Maybe this is what Kaleb was sent here to do... I have never in my life felt so much love and compassion from total strangers. I love each and every one of you. I mean this sincerely from the bottom of my heart.

Why do these things happen?  Poor poor little boy. I will pray for him and his family -- so hard.

Thank you Adrianna for keeping us up to date. I must say from across the world we feel very close to you and please know that you are all very close to our hearts. 
We will continue to pray and offer sacrifices and Masses for you all and especially beautiful Kaleb.
I will be passing your story to the Carmelites in our town so they can pray as well - their prayers are so powerful.

Oh how joyful! This makes me appreciate those simple moments that I am so often tempted to overlook and pass up - a spontaneous hug, snuggling on the couch, the ability to look at my children and have them look back at me. Thank you Kaleb for reminding me of the joy in the most simple gifts!
Renewing our prayers here for healing if it is God's will, and for continued strength for this family.

New updates from his mom's blog:
June 15,2007
The doctors have ordered speech therepy to start coming in daily and I was told the the lady who does it that this was a good sign. Today we focused on stimulization. I talked into Kaleb's ear and he responded by moving his head to my direction. I rubbed a soft toy against his mouth and he started smacking his lips together. When I held the glow worm above him, his arm shot straight up. His breathing also increased.

Kaleb is still fighting hard. We got a call on the way to the hospital that Kaleb's blood count was low, so they are going to give him a blood transfusion. He has been slowing down on his movement in the last 24 hours and they think that it could be a result from the low blood count. He is also having some stridor when he breathes too. He just threw up again too.
June 17, 2007
Kaleb had a good day today. He has been kind of sleepy but is still reacting to our voices. They lowered his feeds today to see why he continues to throw up. He also has a little bit of a rash on his forehead now. He is maintaining his body tempeture too!!

Alot has happened since I last updated on baby Kaleb. He has come so far. He is more alert, responding to everything. He is still blind, but they think he can see a little bit out of his right eye. He was finally strong enough to come home last week, but a couple days ago he was rushed back to the hospital. Here are the latest updates:
7/22/07
I have some sad and bad news. Kaleb has been readmitted into the hospital into PICU again. He has been more rigid the last 2 days and very aggitated. I took his temp. The thermometor that we have is a ear one and it said 97.2. There was NO WAY he was 97.2 so i got out different thermometor and took a rectal temp and it said 99.9. So I decided to trend the temp and take it evry 5 minutes and in 30 mins it got up to 101.00. He then started to make a really weird noise and act like he was about to have a seizure. So the ambulance came and took him emergency to the hospital.They ruled out RSV, Influenza, any airborn illness. Everything was ruled out and he looked fine. But then they had to do a Head Tap and draw some CSF from his shunt. That test came back a bit cloudy and there is a high chance that he has Meningitis again. The hospital also says that the way he is posturing is a type of seizure.They have to culture the CSF to see if anything grows. If he does have meningitis, they are going to take Kaleb into surgery either today or tomorrow and remove the shunt. Then they will put a external drain back in his brain and start an antibiotics series again and then go back into surgery and put the shunt back in.

Kaleb is still in PICU. Today they have a 24 hour EEG machine hooked up to him. They are seeing if he has persistant seizures. He has been so fussy since he's gotten to the hospital, he knows he is not at home. Hopefully this EEG will show that he has more brain activity then they originally thought. We have been told this time at the hospital that Kaleb WON't get better. That most of his brain is gone. This has really saddened my heart and it is hard not to believe them.
I've asked God to give Kaleb the strength to pull through this one and to keep my hope going. I am not going to lie, I feel very weak right now. I am very sad. I pray that God will restore Kaleb's brain. I feel like I am in a nightmere set on repeat. I just want my littlle boy to hit those little milestones that every mother waits for. I want him to say Mama and Daddy. I want his eyes to light up when he sees us like he used to. I want him to crawl and walk. I want him to hit his first homerun at a baseball game. I want to see him have children. ALl of these things I hope for. But maybe God has a different plan for all of us an I pray for understanding of this that surpasses peace. We have been holding on to the hope that he will be restored for almost 3 months now. It feels more like 3 years. I pray that Justice is done for him.

Oh my, this is so sad. I'm going to Mass in the AM and will offer my communion for Kaleb and his family. In the meantime, prayers here. What a nightmare for this family.

This poor family what a nightmare alright. It would be hard to believe for a mother that your beautiful child
won't recover. But nothing is impossible for God there's always hope, and if this is Kaleb's lot in life I'm sure he will bring many blessings in his own very special way.
