Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Meredith, thanks for sharing! What a neat idea for the sandpaper letters!

I'm trying to gather the animals for the grammar box, and I've printed off the words from jmj publishing. I found a bag of plastic animals at WalMart for 88 cents, so that will be a beginning. Now I've got to look for the small tackle box to hold them.

You're welcome!! The tackle boxes I've been using are the Plano 3500, Plano 3650, and a Cabela's 3600. I LOVE them, so inexpensive for so many little things!! Come to think of it, I'm going to check Cabela's for my Reading Kits Sound Bins, maybe something in kitchen section...

Love love love Cabela's, a great Nebraska company!

In other news, the thing that will buoy up my day: I finished my cubing chains! And hung them up! I just stand in the doorway of our schoolroom and smile at them.

Now, for the squares and cubes that go with them: I need three more cubes, and lots more squares. . . .

Thanks for the tip about the letters, Meredith. I went to Michaels today and bought a set. I have a set of sandpaper letters with the capital letters, and I've noticed ds prefers to write in capitals. So I've been thinking I needed to get a lower case set, too.

I also found a Vincent Van Gogh calendar there for $1 in their calendar bin. Nice big prints- for $1. I was so happy

Well....today I made golden bead material with popsicle sticks and some iridescent yellow pony beads I bought on clearance at Hobby Lobby. I used Gorilla Glue to hold the beads on, and a little too late I discovered that you've got to use a tiny amount of glue. This stuff expands in volume to 3 - 4 times its size!

So....well, let's just say they're not pretty. Functional- yes, pretty - no! Truthfully, from a distance they don't look half bad.

I'm still working on laminating and cutting out addition and subtraction sets from jmj publishing. I also had the fruit pictures printed at Walmart from Montessori by Hand and they're beautiful! I've made up labels, and now I've just got to put the pictures on cardstock and laminate the labels. I'm really excited about these!

Oh, I also bought poker chips from Walmart today that were marked down to $1.50 a box. I've been looking for a set that had red, blue and green chips and finally found these. I'll use them with our place value cards.
