Well, I've made it thru the first twelve hours. LOL
We're actually looking at his job thoughts once he gets out (retired)--which God willing will be a year after his return from Iraq. He's getting his degree as close to finished as he can while he is gone. If he doesn't get it actually finished before he gets back, then he'll finish it in that year between filing his paperwork and actually retiring (which at this point, he will do at over 24 yrs)....his main idea for when he gets out has 3 mos away from home, and 3 mos home, and then another 3 mos away...and so on and so forth...I can handle 3 mos. Esp since the pay ROCKS (we're talking about over $200K a year, ladies). And he'd be in an office the entire time he was away ("away" being in the same region he is in now).
Anyway, ladies, I SOOO appreciate the prayer support. I can feel that it is probably the only thing that has helped make this day bearable. Being post-partum hormonal, on top of everything else...wellll, you can imagine. I don't normally have a problem with post-partum hormonal issues...but toss a serious lack of sleep and DH deploying...sigh. Ykwim.
Fortunately, I do have some small support here in town, and then there are the online message boards, and the unlimited long distance plan which ROCKS...lol. SOOO glad for that. I have to say, with his deployments, my typing speed has gotten better and better and better--of course, I've worn out two computers in the last 7 yrs, but hey, that's the price on pays to keep sane when doing the geographically single thing for 6 mos plus at a time over and over again.
Anyway, ladies, thank you for the prayers...they have helped immensely...more than you will ever now...
Rachel

Thanks, ya'll. My sense of humor is back. Even in spite of making a trip to Target this morning (I made sure to go before the crowds got bad--this is a payday weekend in a military town, and the weather was/is decent). I had the boys in their stroller, and the dds walking--the older two took turns pushing the large rubbermaid container containing our purchases from the back of the store to the front, just so we could get everything we needed/wanted.
Btw, if anyone is interested, the $1 section had some nice little red/white/blue tin pails...if anyone is planning to decorate for the Fourth (altho they would work for Veteran's Day and Memorial Day, too). They had solid colored ones with star cutouts, and then some solid pails with stripes and others with stars....they also had some silicone ice cube trays with star shapes...hth some of you ladies looking for more patriotic decoration..

God bless you Rachel! I have five yr old twin boys, and three older children.
I'm glad your Target outing went well. I remember those days of feeling overwhelmed so well. Actually, the first three months were a total blur!
Not only are you handling so much, but also giving a heads up on decorative items at Target! I'll go check out the merchandise for the Fourth.
Take care and God bless,
Grace

Hey, I do what I can, lol. There wasn't a HUGE amount of stuff for the fourth, but some. I am sure they will be filling up on it, though, in the coming weeks.
The ones with the star cutouts would make some nice tabletop votives, if one is having an evening cookout or something, that weekend. Put a little sand in the bottom, and a cheap dollar store candle, presto, you're ready to go...lol.
Glad I could be of some help. I get some great head's ups from the ladies here, so I figured I ought to return the favor, lol.
Oh, I just heard from DH--a REALLY long distance phone call. He's somewhere in that general region of the world. Sandy and hot....lol. He can't give specifics, of course, but that's about it. Probably a small country that starts with a K, or maybe a Q. He said that they would be there for a while, so he will probably be to check his email sometime soon.
Anyway, hope ya'll can use the decoration information. LOL
Rachel
