Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I so admire all of you ladies who, in spite of your strong desire, honor and respect your husbands. There is so much grace in this. You are in my prayers.

The only time I don't long for another sweet baby is the 9 months prior to giving birth to one.

Yes, yes. Me too!    I swore with my first it would be my "only" and with my second I said the entire time, "Not everyone is meant to have a big family - this is IT for me." And now....

I understand - very well.

It has helped me to offer up these feelings of, well, envy, for the conversion of extended family - like a little bit of suffering offered up.

Not saying this well but hoping you'll understand.

That ache and longing is always there and you're perfectly normal, Jennifer. I truly am happy for others with their good news and to hold that new little child, but I must admit it does hurt.

I think the ache hurts no matter your walk in life -- those who have never been able to bear, who chose not to bear (chastity vow), and those who have borne a child. It's in different degrees, but truly, only with grace can I bear this heartache.

I, too, long for another. My dh feels strongly about not having another. I think he fears that he'll be overwhelmed and not able to handle everything. He's such a great father, I believe he'd be wonderful with another one. THis is something, though, that I've really had to give to God, over and over. I believe that I'll always want another. I have to remember how truly blessed I am by the two dc God has given my dh and I. Thank you for sharing this with us, Jennifer!

We just had a new addition in the family. A sweet little niece to love. I got to hold her yesterday on her first day home from the hospital. I can't describe the pangs that I felt. It is the same when I hear someone is expecting.

We truly believe that Our Heavenly Father has more children in mind for us, but for now we have some health issues to take care of.

I guess what I am trying to say is that even though we don't have any serious reason to believe we are "done", I still struggle with envy and jealousy.
