Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I've always wanted to name a daughter Mary Catherine, and joked to DH that we'd call her M-cat!

We have

Mary Grace
Mary Clare

They both go by their middle names...or the latest nickname, but we have family members that call them by their full names and I love it everytime I hear it.

Blessings ~

We had planned on Mary Margaurite bit our Mary Olivia is just about four months old now...we named her after Our Lady of Olives- we prayed for intercession for a healthy pregnancy under that title.

We usually call her Mary O however- great grandma started and it has stuck

That is really pretty - I like it. I had a principal in grade school, Sr. Mary Olive. I thought of including that in this listing but didn't like it. But Mary Olivia is beautiful.

My husband's aunt was Mary Elizabeth.........and she has been dead for 45ish years.........and everyone still calls her Mary Elizabeth. I LOVE the name! IT can work well!

And, you get the Mother of Christ AND the mother of Saint John the Baptist for patrons..........way cool

Keep us updated!

A friend just named her new blessing Mary Elizabeth. It looks lovely on a birth announcement!

Also, I have two friends named Mary Kay (one is Mary Catherine but has always been called Mary Kay). They're both warm, outgoing ladies...

I like Mary Claire, too.

Well, you should like that ONE MaryM -- that's my official, mom's side of the family, appellation! It always sounded kinda hick to me but there you go. And my older sister's name is Anne Marie so Sarah that would fit your family!

I also like Marie with additions -- like Marie Therese, Marie Bernadette.

If we had another girl, I would like her to be Marie Veronika

This is so great. You ladies hae really pitched in here!

Dh is thinking Mary Rose.

I was thinking Mary Elizabeth, but was a little worried about the length.

BUT now you have given us LOTS to think about. . .

Its probably a boy and that would be our 5th boy! He would be Joseph or Michael.

I have a MaryRose Clare - we made the name MaryRose as her first name so that no one would shorten it to Mary ;)

I also know a Mary Magaret, called by both names and a Mary Grace.

I have a Mary Katherine. We call her either Mary Kate or Mushka :) I LOVE the name Mary Grace.

I vote for Mary Elizabeth! That's what I had in mind before reading everyone else's post and was thrilled to see that so many like it.

I have a friend Mary Elizabeth, but she has always gone as Mary Liz.

A nice compromise to a longish name, imho.

I want another girl so I can name her Mary Margaret. I also like the name Marie. It's plain, but different in this day and age. Mary Elizabeth is very long IMO. I would probably call her Mary or MaryBeth in that case. We have an Elizabeth who has already been shortened to Lizzie.

When I was teaching I had a Mary Elizabeth in my class. As far as I know, no one ever tried to shorten it to just Mary. I keep hoping we have another girl so I can name her Mary Elizabeth as well.
