Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I am going this evening at 7:30! Can't wait.    I am going with my mil, bil, and two friends. We are very excited, as our local theater was only having one show, last night's at 7:30. So many people called and requested tickets, they ended up adding more shows to yesterday's schedule, and it is set to show at all regular movie times (ie. many times throughout the day,) for at least the next week!
Mary, thanks for the info, so I will make certain to take kleenex! I tend to get emotional at movies.
(Not that I get to many!)

God Bless,

I just saw the movie this morning. It was very good but very cathartic. Definitely bring kleenex. It had an independent film feel, but it wasn't weird like a lot of indies. The prolife message was very subtle; I don't think the word "abortion" was ever mentioned. It was so clean and everyone was modest. Very refreshing!

I want to go back and take my husband to see it, but it will be hard to convince him to spend the $$.

I was talking to my SIL this morning about it. The Denver Post review had two complaints: didn't like the cinematography (but since it's not a super professional film, duuuuuuhhhh! altho the bumpiness at the beginning when they're walking is a bit distracting) and the other complaint was the premise of a guy leaving his family's business to go after a girl he doesn't know .... well, the girl has been working at the family restaurant for 4 years and the guy has known her for a year and all of a sudden she's coming in late and calling in sick. So what's not believable that he chooses the PERSON over the THING? I think he was just rying to find something wrong with it ... while I'm only looking for the good!

I agree about the bumpiness, but other than than I really liked the cinematography. I loved the shot of the side of the car as it was driving along. That was very clever. I also really liked how they did the soundtrack in the movie. Both the cinematography and the sound were the things that made it seem more like an independent film.

I read this evening that it got more than 1.3 million this weekend. Yea!

I read a very interesting article by Karl Keating (Catholic Answers). It said that in order for the movie to go nationwide it needs good attendence for the first two weeks of the opening of the movie. I would have thought only the opening weekend would be important. Anyway, if anyone hasn't seen it yet or knows of others that haven't, this coming up weekend is very important as far as numbers, etc. Spread the word!

I LOVED it!

I've been reading some great articles and listening to some great interviews at the official website Bella, even an interview by Ryan Seacrest (American Idol). A friend told me that Laura Ingrahm did a wonderful interview with Eduardo V. (leading actor) this morning.

I am going to take my 12 year old daughter to see it next weekend.

Anyway, LOVED it, LOVED it, LOVED it!!

I saw it this weekend, at a matinee showing, and the theater was full (hooray!). I really, really loved it.

Any ideas of how we could get it here in Southern Va? When I checked yesterday on the website, it is only playing in Northern VA! I SOO want to go see it!

The title says it all. Beautiful.

My face was so swollen I could barely see to walk out of the theater, that's all I have to say. Go SEE IT---so more movies like this are made, and these filmmakers are "rewarded" and encouraged to produce similar work.

Leonie, here's a comment someone put on my blog post about Bella ....

Those of us here in the USA will do our best to fill those theatre seats for these days when the distributors are watching to see how "Bella" does. It was number two in success for theatre this weekend. Nice job, ladies!
I have a review up on Mercatornet which was picked up by Reuters and USA Today. I hope this helps Jackie and all the world get "Bella" the way we sent them "The Passion of the Christ"
.

I'm thinking the same reasoning applies to Australia?

Hey, all y'all in the London area -- looks like you're finally getting a chance to see Bella courtesy of the Knights of Columbus -- do try and go and let us know what you think of it across the "pond"!

Has anyone been to Walmart? "Bella" is now available on DVD!
Eduardo Verastegui (the actor who played the leading character) was on the "Today" show, last week? Really wonderful man.
Here is the Walmart info, and here is the Amazon info.

I hope to pick it up this week!

God Bless,
