Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Coming in late here...but I'm pregnant also and get soooo tired of plain water!
I like to make Crystal Lite, because I think it's 5 calories or something, and zero sugar. They make those individual packets, so you don't even have to make a whole pitcher, if you get several varieties, you can have a new flavor every time! I like to put the water in a nalgine bottle, add the crystal lite packet, shake it up...and it's so tasty! One of my favorites along the same line is (I think Lipton?) individual packets (for 16 oz water) of mandarine orange flavored green tea. Ohh...I could drink that all day!

Has anyone mentioned that Gatorade is available in powder form in a large canister at Costco?

Angie, why straws?

I use straws because I can drink more at one time and do it more quickly. I think my choice to use straws started when I added ice to my drinks (didn't do that until I moved to AZ.) I didn't like the ice hitting my face when I drank...call me sensitive ...enter - straws. Then I realized that when beverages became distasteful to me (because of having to drink large amounts or now because of pregnancy) the straws allow me to "chug" the beverage...without the full mouth experience. Could be just me .

Since reading about Mary's ginger syrup idea, dd has been on a roll! She has made the ginger syrup and a Chai syrup (ginger-sliced, cloves, allspice, cinnamon - all whole) and is looking to make peppermint and cinnamon! We add the syrup to either iced water, iced selzter or club soda, or iced milk...no kidding...the iced Chai milk is awesome (plus I get an added dairy - I never drink milk plain .)

Thanks for sharing all of your ideas.

Love,

I have found some success with the lemon water and watered-down gatorade. I still can't seem to drink enough though. It is frustrating, and it isn't even hot out yet.

I haven't tried the ginger ale yet, but I am thinking it might be too sweet. I can't do anything sweet.

I might try the straw thing. I think we have some around here. But then, I know I will be starting something and everyone will need a straw!

Love,

DD just made rootbeer syrup...yum! I think she used 1 cup sugar and one cup water to make the syrup then added 1/2 t rootbeer extract/flavoring. Adding this syrup to milk is a mock rootbeer float .

Love,

Nicole, what is "slush?" Is this something you make? Is it a smoothie without dairy?

Love,
