Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Joann, I am keeping you in prayers.

When I have had had surgeries and hospitalizations, I always spent extra time beforehand with the kids - reading picture books with littlies, watching movies with older and younger, listening to books on CD. Just being together. Calms me and them.

Also very good for the post op and recovery period. Once you feel up to it.

A funny - may last surgery was 2005. I had my usual not so good reaction to anasthetic and was very sick. My youngest two came to visit me and said "Mum, you look just like Frodo does in the LOTR movie, when he's been attacked and cocooned by She-lob." Made me laugh - and taking time to laugh during these situations is always a help!

Hugs,

Thank-you every one so much for your prayers and good suggestions. I am giving myself until Monday to get used to the idea of another surgery and then I am going to get down to the business of making plans.

I think I will carry around a notebook and make plans as I go thoughout my days.

I will definitely make good meal plans for the kids to carry out.

Schoolwork I am not so sure about. We will probably do a lot of reading and listening to books on tape. I have ordered some Jim Weiss cd's that I have wanted and I can send my husband to the library.
My husband and I did go to Barnes and Noble tonight. (25% homeschool discount this week) He keep telling me to get what I wanted so..... you can see how I did on my blog.

Again, thank you and keep us in your prayers.
