I think that might be part of my curiosity this time. I spent the first 16 weeks or so almost afraid to 'bond'. I thought I was going to lose this little one so many times over. Now I feel him/her kicking and rolling each day and I'm enjoying every second.
I spoke with dh about it last night, and he doesn't want to know, so we won't be finding out. I'm okay with that. It's good to have him make those decisions for me! Takes a load off, ya know.
Thanks everyone. It's interesting to read all of your thoughts and experiences on this.

I have been blessed many times in the past by my dh making a final decision about something important. It has always given me a great sense of peace when I followed his wishes.

My DH and I have found out with all of ours...I'm one of those awful "preparer" types, who likes to have the clothes for the first six months out and in the drawers....not to mention the lack of good neutrals out there...
So, we've found out. Three girls...then we go in for this u/s, the tech sees two heads and asks "You know you're having twins, right?" LOL...Uh, NOOOOOoooooOOOO....LOL....
They were head to head, so she just plopped the probe on the other side of my stomach, and right off, it was "WOW! You know what THAT is, don't you?!" LOL....yeah, we've never seen one in there before, but we know what that is...
Little one Number two then flashed us a few moments later...so we knew. LOL. I am REALLY glad I didn't opt for a surprise this time--cause it really WOULD have been a surprise!!!! (Dh has 9 sisters and only 3 brothers, so it goes to figure that we'd run to girls)....
I don't have a problem with finding out, but for those who don't want to know, well, that's their choice...I won't knock it. Doesn't work for me personally, but hey, it's their baby, not mine...lol

Well, dh just emailed me and said that if the tech can get a clear shot, ask her to take a picture for me to bring home and we'll try to figure it out ourselves. That way we we'll have fun guessing with our untrained eyes, yet still not have any more certainty than before. (because of our untrained eyes, unless, of course there is no mistaking what things are! :))
I think it sounds like a fun idea!
If you think about it, please pray that all is well with the baby, placenta, and mama. I leave here in about 15 minutes!

Hi,
Did I read that you were have twins?
We did not find out with the first. With our twins we had no choice. I think we had 10 U/S because my son's kidneys failed in utero and we had to keep doing US to find out when to deliver the babies. Eventually they were taken in emergency Csection at 31 weeks. So I knew with 2 and 3.
With baby 4, I knew, but told no one but the Godmother who lived 20 hours away from us. My husband did not want to know and apparently I kept a really good secret.
With number 5, we did not find out. But I was so cocky, I thought that I saw a boy. I was convinced I saw a boy. I was utterly shocked when they pulled out a girl, especially since I was going through a morphine overdose shock on the operating table at that moment (the twins Csection forced me to have C's forever more).
But do not worry about a US for medical issues. When you have to have them they can be a life saver. My son would NOT EXIST right now if we had not done the repeat US. As it was we had a battle for his life to keep him alive-the prematurity was nothing compared to the kidney failure.
I hope that your problems are cured. I know how stressful that can be. Good luck.
Holly

I am home, and everything is PERFECT! The twin issue completely resolved, the tear completely healed, and everything with the baby is healthy and perfect. Baby is measuring a week ahead, but that's not a big deal to me. And, about the gender, well, I did just what I explained in my previous post. And, to no suprise, there is no doubt, that, we have another SON! :) I guess when I said 'untrained eye' I didn't take into consideration just how 'trained' my eye really is on those parts! I will put pics on my blog later, when I can figure out what is wrong with my scanner.
Honestly, when I got there, gender was the last thing on my mind. I was just praying all was well after the traumatic start to this pregnancy. She asked if I wanted to know the gender, I said "don't move the screen, but don't tell me either" And there was no doubt that it's a boy! He's a doll. Truly. Praise be to God that all is well, we are healthy and growing.

That's wonderful, Lisa! When I had my u/s with Patrick, there was NO doubt at all that he was a boy either! It was such an obvious shot, I was almost embarassed to send it to family !
Boys are fun!

And I guess we should have guessed that -- since it doesn't look like you've ever had two girls in a row!!Congratulations!

Glad everything checked out so well. I've very happy for you all! I was "sure" that you'd break your trend & have two girls in a row!

I love the compromise your husband came up with! What a great example of really listening to each other's preferences and communicating well.
Congratulations!

Thanks for all the congrats! We are just giddy here!
When I showed Tony the pic, he just laughed and laughed! Then he started on numbers, we have twice as many boys than girls, a 2:1 ratio, each girl has 2 bodygaurds!
I looked at it as all three girls are 5 years apart, I have 'little mamas' for all these little boys! God is so good to me!
Healthy baby boy!
