Reading Maria A.'s prayer request for her daughter's friends and Maria P.'s comments along the same line, and having similar concerns about my dd 11 and some situations that have come up with other girls in this age range, I would like to suggest that we pray a novena for our children's friends and friendships. Does anyone have a suggestion for an appropriate novena?

Nancy, wonderful idea, I would like join in too - maybe St Therese of the Child Jesus? I remember she had problems when she went to school, it was a great source of pain for her the behaviour of the other girls towards her....

Sorry, I'm not sure which way you spell your name. Do you have a St. Therese novena that you could post for those of us who want to pray it for our children friendships? Thanks so much. I just realized - my dd11 is named Margaret Therese. That makes it seem an even better idea to me.

Here is a beautiful novena, if you set the day for starting, my daughter and I will join with you.
MY NOVENA ROSE PRAYER
O Little Therese of the Child Jesus, please pick for me a rose from the heavenly gardens and send it to me as a message of love.
O Little Flower of Jesus, ask God today to grant the favors I now place with confidence in your hands.....(request)
St Therese, help me to always believe as you did, in God's great love for me, so that I might imitate your "Little Way" each day. Amen

This is a wonderful idea...I have been saying this novena daily at Ruth's blog. I love it!
Hope St. Therese intercedes for all our children, and they are blessed with godly and good friendships.

This is a beautiful idea. Thank you, Anne, for posting the text. I wanted to search for something but didn't get to it.
I am assuming that we will start today as Maria suggested. If others start on another day or continue their current novena, then that is great too. God will hear our prayers no matter what! I am going to make this a sticky topic for now, though.

I am joining in late, too, though I'm not sure that my situation quite fits.... we don't have problems with bad things in friendships. My 13.5 yo dd, Kellie, has NO friends. She'd had a couple but they've abandoned her. My dh and I just discussed sending her to the Catholic school if this doesn't change drastically before the new year starts. She is getting depressed. I am happy to be praying for all of your children. Thank you for remembering her in your prayer as well.

It started as a one time thing, but I left it as a sticky because a novena for our children never hurts no matter when it comes! So, yes, it's a start-when-you-can prayer.
