Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I just figured out another migraine trigger for me - a good cry (or is it "bad cry" in this case? ). Twice in as many weeks I have had a good crying spell, and soon after developed the migraine.   I do remember this happening at other times as well.

Just in case this helps someone - not that you can always avoid the cry!

Amy, that sounds like a hormone shift which caused the good cry and then the migraine!

Helene, I was going to say the same thing. Your warning signal is the cry...I don't think the migraine is FROM the cry. I could be wrong. I do get fierce headaches from sobbings, but not a migraine.

It takes a long time to sniff out and track down trigger factors...also warning signs. For many, the aura is a signal that it's coming. A friend of mine had years of migraines and finally figured out she had a little pain at the top of her head before it would come on.

KNOWING that it's coming sometimes helps keep the pain a little at bay. Take the remedies before it hits full force. Before I was married I could take Imitrex (pill, the nasal spray made me sick) that helped, but it was still a day lost from either side effects from the meds or migraine.

In this particular case, I think all the triggers were there but the greatest of these was a virus. My children are falling like dominoes with a wicked headache and Mary Chris had one start a couple of days after mine. Of course,Mary Chris and I live in the same environmental conditions so the barometer is the same across the street as it is here but this one looks to be a bug...

We've had the same virus across the rivers in MD. 24 hours of killer headache followed by nausea, then a head cold...sound familiar?

Yep. Very weird. The headache has definitely lasted longer than 24 hours, but that's the bug.
