Oh what joyous news!! You will be in my prayers for sure. And FWIW, there are 10 of us in 1500 sq. feet right now, and the way it's looking, 11 of us soon! Oh I'm so happy for you!

Thank you, everyone who has shared the size of their home and the numbers living in it. My own husband was one of seven children raised in a tiny rambler (maybe 1300 sq ft? With only one bathroom!). We have 2400 square feet and 4 toilets, so I think we'll be fine ... He just contantly compares himself to all our friends who have been able to afford the new McMansion with the yard and playset in the back, kwim?
I think the main problem *I* have is that we're in a city townhouse, so no real yard, shared walls, and the 2400 sq ft is divided over three levels, so there really isn't much room to roam or play -- each level is only 800 sq ft with much of that taken up by stairs. It can sometimes feel very cramped even with just the three of us. But we are so blessed to even have this house, he bought it way back when he was single for practically nothing and it's worth nearly half a million now, there is NO WAY we could afford it on our income today. So to have this home in this neighborhood is a tremendous blessing, even if it is "just" a townhouse. And really, there's plenty of green space here for kids to play in -- it's just not a nice safe fenced area where I can send the kids out to play and keep an eye on them from the window while I get things done. I have to be right there at all times for safety. So that is an inconvenience, but it also allows me to see so much of how my son interacts with other children ... which is fascinating.
Anyway, thank you all for your prayers, I keep taking pregnancy tests and they keep coming up positive, but I am still SO nervous. I am throwing myself on Our Lord, and on Our Lady's and St. Gerard's intercession, begging for this baby to grow and develop and be healthy and that we will bring home a wonderful bundle of joy come December. Plus a healthy mom.
Thank you, thank you, thank you all for your prayers. Please keep them coming. I am so grateful.

Missed this too! Congratulations!
My dh and I stressed a bit about houses too! Our first rental only had one small bedroom. When we had our second child,we put our oldest to sleep at night in a pack-and-play in the kitchen -- which happened to be open to the living room. At night, dh and I watched a lot of movies in the dark on "mute" -- just reading the subtitles.
We did move shortly there after to a house twice the size, but it was very family cozy for a few months!! And we felt like we were living in a McMansion when we moved to our house with 1700 sq. feet after our cozy conditions.

Congratulations!!
I just want you to know that we have 12 in a 990 sq.ft. house-and 1 bathroom. The hardest thing is trying to have everyone sit down for dinner. I will try to put a picture of that on my blog tonight.

Thank you again! My first appointment (with ultrasound) is tomorrow, so if you all could lift up that intention -- for everything to look good and go well -- I would be so grateful. The appointment is at 1:45 EDT, so just a Hail Mary for us would be so appreciated! So far everything seems okay, but I know I will relax much more when I see that heartbeat on the monitor.

The ultrasound was good! We saw the nice, steady heartbeat, so that's very reassuring. The baby is measuring five days behind where I thought it would, but that's no big deal because I usually have long cycles and alll the calculations were being made on a 28-day calculator. My new due date is December 15, which is even closer to some of you than before!
Thank you for all your prayers, keep them coming, please! As I will keep you in mine as well. This board is such a blessing.
