Oh, ouch. Perhaps you could bring a list of dentists that participate in your dental plan along on the trip, just in case?

Praying that your tooth gets fast and proper care, and that all the pain goes away, AND that it is done before your trip!
I don't know why I didn't think if this before, but, in the future, if you ever have problems, if there is a dental school near you, they generally charge half what a regular dentist does. All work is overseen by a "real" dentist, too. Just a thought for money-savings. (Where I live, there are a lot of people who take advantage of the U of MI dental school, and I haven't heard one bad experience. Hopefully it would be the same at other dental schools.)

Chari, continuing to pray. I second Stacy's suggestion. DH and I met at a dental school where he was getting treatment, so I have a special fondness for them:)

Chari, unbelievable.......my tooth kept me up most of the night, I am waiting on a call from the dentist. I literally feel your pain! I will pray for you, and if you have room on your list of prayers please throw me in. You know I am such a wimp

I am so sorry for your suffering, Chicken lady, truly I am. I appreciate you sharing it with me. I promise I always offer up all of these dental woes for all of you.....especially those of you who can relate only too well...and esp. YOU!
Stacey, it is a good idea.....but I live in a small town......that does not live anywhere near a dental school 
Stef.......that is very amusing! Was the dental school here or in the Philippines?
Nancy, EVERY dentist is on MY dental plan  ......I have learned that they all take CASH 
So, now the details: I have finally had the big picture really fall into place this afternoon for me. While "I" was trying to be patient.........I realize my dentist was probably mis-managing me. Makes me feel sad........wish I would have jumped ship in the first place.....there are a lot of details related to this
.....too many to go into.....
.......but, he told me he would call on Monday to find me a specialist to take care of my tooth........he never called me, so I called him this am, then at noon.......he forgot to call for a specialist for me ......so, I took it upon my self. It took two hours of phone calls, including ones in tears to my husband. I had trouble sleeping last night for the pain and thinking about how little time I had left, how much pain there was......and what specialist was going to let me in in such short notice.......who did not even know me.
In fact, not one office could get me in before May 29th
Well..........I did not even want to go to Redding, to the dentist.......but, a girl named Brandi, seemed to want to solve my problem at an office down there......she gave me hope.....and, by the end of the two hours, called me to let me know I could have the canecellation from tomorrow at 11 am. WOW........what a gift! From God, from Brandi, from Dr. Smith and from all of you, in praying for me.
Brandi seems to think her dentist (endodontist) will be able to solve my problem in about an hour.
Please beg God to let this be the appointment that heals this tooth once and for all......and the headaches, too!
With only two weeks to go on this trip......I am ready for the healing.....I CANNOT let Tina down
Actually..........if I have to give this trip up.........I am going to Denver no matter what, because on May 29th we have tickets to see Wicked......and I am NOT missing it!!!
So, Tina......no matter what, you are stuck with me! Just pray it is without dental pain!
Please pray for safety in driving, too....and a safe reaction to the novocaine.

Yes, Nancy, Brandi was a blessing.
I took the office Dove chocolates as a thank you gift for getting me in in less than 24 hours. Even the doctor thanked me
The appointment went well. VERY $$$$$---this man must average $5-10,000 every day from his patients.
Anyway......it most definitely needed a root canal. Thankfully there was no infection, just major inflammation.
I took 400mg motrin about 9.5 hrs ago..........and still have no pain. Either the motrin has not worn off, or the arnica is working amazingly well (I LOVE arnica!)....I would expect to be at least a little sore.......either way, I have no toothache OR headache.
I have hope.
The scary part is......and I had no idea of this till just before we started .....they only put a temp filling in......I still need to go back to my dentist to get a permanent filling and crown. Please pray they can do that tomorrow (I already had an appt) without messing anything else up
....then, starting on my return, I have a new dentist, handpicked by my husband...he already made me an appt for August
Final update tomorrow...........I pray!!!!!!

Thanks for all of your prayers......I meant to report in sooner.......but I ended up working over 30 hrs since then..... .....ah, but I have lots of $$$ to show for it....oh, except.... ......most of it is going to pay for ONE tooth , , and
The blessing was....my crown was not ready in time.....someone messed up! I just KNEW it was going to happen!
So, I did not get it fixed until this morning.....all went well, and I prayer that this very expensive tooth is going to be fine forever!
Please pray that on my trip I have no dental woes......
Please pray my new dentist is a good fit for me.......I have to spend so much time with mine ...I wilke us to fit well together
Please pray I only have to update this prayer request with prayers before each dental visit......I know, I am asking a lot......but, if you ask, you receive
