The Midnight Library by Kazuno Kohara
Cute book, simple/bold three color illustrations that set the night mood. And it has owls so of course it is worth the read.

Miss Moore Thought Otherwise subtitled How Anne Carroll Moore Created Libraries for Children
Quote:
Once upon a time, American children couldn’t borrow library books. Reading wasn’t all that important for children, many thought. Luckily Miss Anne Carroll Moore thought otherwise! This is the true story of how Miss Moore created the first children’s room at the New York Public Library, a bright, warm room filled with artwork, window seats, and most important of all, borrowing privileges to the world’s best children’s books in many different languages. |

The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr. Morris Lessmore by William Joyce
Fun, fantastical story...
A fun animation based on the book - The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr. Morris Lessmore - or actually the book came after the animation. It won an academy award in 2012.
The book and movie are a tribute to Bill Morris a well known promotor of children's publishing and libraries.

Turned out to be really cute. A reluctant bear, who has all the books he already needs, goes along with mouse to the library and has a change of heart. Nice addition to the other bear and mouse books form Becker.

Thomas Jefferson Builds a Library (Barb Rosenstock) - interesting story about Thomas Jefferson's love of books and reading, his personal library collections, his support of the library of Congress.
