Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I said I wasn't going to, but I did it anyway! (PHOTO)

I've lost 40.2 pounds as of today.    I hope things are going well for everyone.

Blessings,
Krisann

Well, I just joined WW this Tue. I did it successfully after my first child was born. Once I got back into my pre-pregnancy clothes, the holidays hit and I threw WW away I ended up gaining about 20 lbs or so So, now I am 2 months pp with our second child and I am 46 lbs above my pre-(1st)pregnancy weight. I am very disgusted with myself to say the least.

For me it is all about portion control and also not allowing myself too many treats. I find that by keeping track of everything I eat I don't indulge myself everyday. I also eat more vegetables because they are usually 0 points. I don't change what I eat, that is, I don't switch to low fat versions of what I usually eat. And also, I don't do any artificial sweetners.

I didn't read this whole thread, but is this kind of like a WW buddy group where we let each other know how we are doing?

I will take the plunge and state my weight as of Tue...186! That might not sound too bad, but I am only 4'11". I must say I care weight well, though. I spread it out pretty evenly all over my body, but I don't look healthy at all right now. I am not very petite, so WW healthy weight range for my height is just not a possibility for me (99-119). According to my dr I should shoot for 125-135, but that depends on how much muscle I have. Also, I am nursing so my body might hold onto some weight, maybe 5lbs or so.

Thanks for letting me share.

Beth

Beth,

Congratulations on the birth of your second child!

I have found WW to be a great way to lose weight with a nursing baby (mine is 7 months old and I've been doing WW for two months). I've lost nearly 20 pounds since I started. Like you, I don't do fat free foods or artificial sweetners (well, except for the occasional Coke Zero--a weakness--it really does taste remarkably like the real thing!).

I like WW's focus on healthy eating and a change of lifestyle--I've got about 6 pounds to go to get to my goal weight (the upper end of my weight range--I'm a realist!) ...it's hard going these last few pounds but I am looking forward to maintaining instead of losing!

One weakness for me is exercise--I need to try and work a good exercise routine into my days..I'm still a work in progress!

Many prayers for you as you try to get more healthy and fit for your family!

Beth, It's good to see you here!

I'm sorry I stopped posting, but now that I'm pregnant weight loss isn't my focus. However, I'm trying really hard to eat reasonably well this time--I used to live on peach sorbet because it was all I could keep down--and so far I've only gained 1 pound in 2 months. Ironically, when I was sicker with previous pregnancies, I gained more. Go figure. I keep saying that I'm going to continue my workouts since they were gentle enough for pregnancy, but I'm in that sleepy stage so maybe later in the pregnancy.

I plan to keep my eye on this thread as an inspiration for heathful eating and a healthful lifestyle. It looks like everyone is keeping on track. GREAT JOB!

Welcome to the group Beth and congrats on the new addition to your family!

I am taking a short break from the diet. My girls and I were talking about how to get it kickstarted again. Sometimes if you take a week or two off, it revs up your metabolism when you get back on it.

I have been trying to go to the gym but we have only made it once a week.    It's better than not at all though. I will be going back on WW as of Saturday.

One suggestion I have is to take photos and measurements because even though the scale shows progress, it isn't until you see the pictures and measurements that you can really "see" the difference! They really help with motivation.

Blessings,
Krisann

Well, this AM was my first weigh in, and I lost 2lbs! I am glad as I didn't really keep track of my points on Sun (it was crazy here) and yesterday I went to a Labor Day party and didn't track my points. But, I had saved alot of flex points and just ate until I wasn't hungry. That might sound like the obvious thing to do, but that is something that is hard for me to do, especially at a party with alot of good food! But I did so well yesterday at the party that I even had to have a bowl of cereal last night because I was starving. It was nice to not feel sick after the party like I usually would

Thanks for letting me keep myself accountable

Gosh, I can't believe it has almost two months since I posted!

Well, I hit the 50 lb mark a couple weeks ago. This past weekend I was up to 52.4 pounds lost.    I posted pictures on my blog after 50 pounds.

McDonald's just brought back the McRib in our area!! Darn it! I love those things. Today was the first day I had one but I did go to the gym for more than an hour, so hopefully it won't be too bad.    I am trying to go to the gym more often but so far I have only been able to go one extra day.

I hope everyone else is doing well!

Blessings,
Krisann

Krisann,
Congratulations!!    You are doing so well and you look fabulous!!
Leonie,
What a wonderful week you had! That book sounds intriguing--I might need to get it from the library...

I have been maintaining my weight loss but stopped doing official WW weigh-ins about a few pounds shy of my goal weight--I felt like I was getting too OCD about it all...I am actually pretty happy at my current weight--exercise is what I need to work on....

Jennifer - I'm with you - exercise and fitness is more important than the actual scales and numbers on the scale. Today I tried on some new summer clothes - amazed to see that I fit comfortably into a smaller size, when my weight hasn't changed a whole lot. But I workout a fair bit, for health reasons, and this must be making the changes.

I am down to 179! I have lost 54 pounds as of this morning. Yeah!!

I have also gone down at least 8 dress sizes. I was in a 22/24 and can now wear a 16 or a large 14.    I bought a new bathing suit for the gym and it is a 12. I do wear it, even though it is a little snug. I didn't realize it was a 12 when I bought it because the sizing is really weird (38, 40, 42, etc. how are we supposed to know what size that is? lol) and the store didn't have dressing rooms to try things on. It wasn't until later that I figured out how the sizes worked. Oh well, more incentive.

I hope everyone else is doing well!

Blessings,
Krisann
