No weight loss here this week. I'm not surprised - my dh is home (he was away for 3 weeks on National Guard duty.). I love him but I eat more around him!

I am sure getting to be together was worth it.
This week will be better.
Blessings,

How did everyone do this week?
I lost 2.4 lbs. but I am pretty sure the gain on weigh-in day is psychological!
Think thin.
Blessings,
Krisann

Krisann that's great! You are doing so well.
No loss again this week but no gain either. Again I'm not surprised - frankly I'm relieved. It's hard to eat well when you are working conferences and traveling. I tried to bring fruit and veggies but they went bad after being in the hot car so long and the cooler not staying cool!
Everything is done in a rush when working these conferences and at the end of the day I just ate that burger and fries that dh bought me - 'cause I was hungry! (We did finally eat at Applebee's after we were done and I had one of their WW entree's - it was really good too!)
I did bring nuts and seed to snack on and I had some rice cakes with me too. We brought our own water which really helps.
Anyway this week will be better and then in 2 weeks we travel again (though not so far - only to Baltimore). Then we are done until August when we go to the 4 Real conference. I will most likely eat pretty well there and it's only a one day conference.
Honestly I don't feel bad that I'm not losing right now. It makes me realize that my weight loss is real and lasting and I feel confident I'll start losing again when I can stay home more.
It's also encouraging to see that I can have a bad week or two and not lose everything I have gained --or rather re-gain everything I have lost. )

It's been a difficult first week on WW for me. I didn't realize how much I'd been using food for comfort throughout the day!
I made the mistake of weighing myself yesterday and after sticking to program and not even eating many of my extra WPA's, I had gained 1.5 pounds. Now, take into account that my digital scale is flaky and I don't trust it--I would like to get a new one...I was devastated and it pretty much affected my outlook for the rest of the day. I persevered and tried to correct what I think I'm doing wrong (not drinking all my water, getting my oil) but sniff, sniff...what's a woman to do? I get an extra 12 points for nursing my 4 month old, too, which I do use. Last time, I lost 3 lbs the first week using the extra nursing points with a 13 month old nursing baby. I thought the weight would just fall off with a nursing 4 month old and a nursing toddler!!
I did weigh myself this morning and was a bit comforted to see that I was down .5 but really, my official WW weigh-in at my meeting is tomorrow morning and I'm downtrodden! Any words of wisdom, ladies?
Just so you don't think I'm totally depressed, I am so happy to have started eating healthy on a consistent basis--all the fresh fruit and veggies have really made a difference in my energy level!
Great job on your week, Krisann; you are really inspiring me! And Michele, you are doing great...I can't imagine how hard it would be to try and eat healthy on the road and when you are so busy preparing for all your conferences!!

Jennifer,
Don't get too discouraged , try eating all your AP to see if that helps. If it doesn't, try cutting down a point or two for nursing. Sometimes it is difficult to gauge things during the first week or two.
I have found that if I do not eat all my activity points my body goes into starvation mode and I don't lose any weight and even start to gain weight.
Also make sure you are measuring everything. Portion sizes are very important and I know for me, if I try to just "eyeball" it, I am usually off.
Let us know how it goes tomorrow. We're here for you either way.
Michele,
Congrats on maintaining under difficult circumstances.
I am always worried about a gain when I have to go out of town. I am heading to AZ for my dh's 20th high school reunion this week so wish me luck! I won't be able to get in much exercise and there will be a lot of fast food and high fat stuff. YUM!
Blessings,
Krisann

Jennifer, I try not to get too hung up about the scales or a certain number - I look at measurements and clothing and how I feel and focus on halth and fitness. Truly, the weight does take care of itself! I am an example of that - work on eating right, on emotional eating, on exercise and you will lose weight ( or inches and clothing size).
Are you exercising? I don't do WW but I can only lose and maintain weight while eating well, *if* I workout. It is the other half of the energy equation for me and muscle makes me look leaner and fitter at a higher weight ( if that makes sense!).
I agree with Krisann - are you eating enough? Bodies really can go into starvation mode..

Thank you for your encouragement, Krisann and Leonie!
Leonie, you are right about not getting hung up about the scales--I need to measure myself, too, so I can tell if I am losing inches instead of pounds.
I am not an exerciser... I am going to try to begin. I always have a thousand excuses (mostly having to do with caring for the kids and the Texas heat not being conducive to exercise!) but dh and I have agreed to spur each other forward. He has been playing soccer three times a week outdoors on his lunch hour. He looks great and weighs 10 pounds LESS than I do right now. He has a small frame BUT!!!!
I did weigh in this morning at WW and somehow lost 2.2 lbs.
Because weighing myself every day pretty much ruined my week, I have decided not to weigh myself everyday. I am going to check in on the scale mid-way through my week and then on weigh in day, that's it. I tend to obsess and get down when the scale isn't my friend...and it will take the emphasis off the weight and onto the fitness like you mentioned, Leonie.
I do have more energy after only a week of healthy eating, so that is a good sign that my body is responding! Please pray for me on the exercise front!
Great job, Leonie, on keeping the focus on health and fitness--I am going to go to your fitness blog and get inspired!
Thank you ladies for being "there" for me as I try to get healthy for my family and myself...

Alright, time to revive this thread.
It has been awhile since I posted to my blog because I have been really busy but I finally had a little time today.
Since March 22 I have lost 30.4 lbs. (as of Saturday the 7th) and an almost unbelievable 16.25 inches!
I hope everyone else is doing well.
Blessings,
Krisann

Krisann!
Awesome job!!! You are very disciplined to be able to get right back "on program" after all the traveling you have been doing!
I'm doing well on WW...today is one month on and I have lost 8 lbs total! That sounds like a lot (too much too fast but it's been in small but steady increments--2.2, 1.6, 1.6 and 2.6). Slow and steady wins the race (my personal motto!).
I am encouraged as I have been able to pack away some of my chubby clothes and pull out some of my transitional wardrobe...

You're doing great Jennifer! 8 pounds is fantastic and right on target. They say you should lose 1-2 pounds per week and you are averaging 2 pounds per week right now.
Keep up the good work!
Blessings,
Krisann

Hello Ladies,
Am I the only one still posting? Come on girls, I need some company on this long journey.
I posted an update on my blog.
I have lost 38.4 lbs. since March 22. I hope everyone else is doing well in their quest too.
Blessings,
Krisann

I'm still in the trenches with you, Krisann!
You are doing so very well, congratulations!!!
I hadn't posted because I started thinking that everyone doesn't need to hear about my boring weigh-ins each week but I have been chugging along with a total weight loss of 10.6 lbs since June 15--slow and steady.
I am a bit worried about my upcoming beach vacation--it will be a good challenge for me to keep working on that healthy eating on the road! I am going to hit Whole Foods and get some healthy snacks and hopefully I'll be okay and not tempted by my old nemesis--those Golden Arches. I am probably the only mom on this board who just ADORES McDonald's hamburgers--a totally guilty treat that I allow myself once in a blue moon (6 pts!).
Hope all are doing well in their quest for healthy living and eating!

Krisann,
I'm still here but I have nothing to report . .still at the same place I was a month ago. At least I'm not gaining.
But YOU are doing great! Keep it up girl!!

You're doing great Krisann and Jennifer! I'm where Michele is. My workout is the most important part of my plan now, but I find it a challenge so while my weight is pretty good, there are some "soft spots."
