Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Thank you all so much for your prayers. I just (finally) heard from the doctor about yesterday's x-rays. She waited all day for the radiologist's report. There has been no change with the skull fracture, which is the news we were hoping for. So hooray. It's been a suspenseful couple of days.

He is still running a high fever (103) and coughing quite a lot, so the dr wants to add another antibiotic to fight the pneumonia. Ordinarily I am extremely hesitant to go the antibiotic route, but in this case I think it's best. He has lost weight this week, which is troubling because we've worked so hard to help him gain in the first place--his weight had plateaued for several months and we were quite concerned about that. He doesn't (can't yet) drink from a cup and has consistently refused a bottle. He still breastfeeds quite a lot--this week even more than usual, which is good, since I know he needs it! Between the sleepless nights (the cough keeps waking him up) and the constant nursing, I feel like I have a newborn again! Except this one grins at me and signs "mommy."

I'm so grateful for your prayers--it's been one of those weeks where you know it's pure grace that's keeping you on your feet!

Just checking in for the first time since we returned from vacation...praying for Steven and his tired Mommy. What a blessing that he is nursing! Hang in there and know that you all are in our family's prayers.

I thought that too, how wonderful that he is nursing, and signing, and grinning! I will continue to pray.   Please take it as easy as you can, Lissa, for the near future -- you are coasting on adrenaline as well as grace and you will need some recoop time built in AFTER things are back to normal. I do pray that is soon!

Lissa,
I have been out of the loop for the last week or so, and just now caught up with all that was happening.

Please know that I am praying for you all. I wish I was closer and could help out in some way.

Please keep us updated.

Even when I've needed to be away from this board, I pray for all intentions and can feel the prayers of others. I, too, am grateful for this beautiful conduit of pure grace.

Our prayers continue, Lissa.

Love,
