Thank you all, again, for your prayers. You are wonderful!
Matt says his leg is finally showing improvement. His overall "awful" feeling is going away, too.
Alot of my concern stemmed from the experience of a local Catholic radio host, who got an infection in his leg, and had to have it amputated after nearly dying. (This was such a big story here in MI, that all of the ladies in my local hs group were also worried about the same thing.) So when the docs said it was strep or staph, my radar went up!
Thanks so much again!
God Bless,
Stacy in MI

Wow! I'm so touched by his suitemate! What a blessing he is to Matt!!!
I'm so glad he's seeing improvement, and feeling better, Stacy. I hadn't heard that Al Kresta had that happen to him!!! When was that???
Infections, not treated, can be so dangerous! It was a staph infection from one of our players last year on our Buffalo Sabres hockey team that was the cause of him not being able to play in the last game of the playoff series, and possibly contributing to that loss. And it's because it wasn't treated properly (it was under his sock on the bottom of his leg, where it got dirty and icky)! And THAT'S from a professional team where they should be taking care of those things!!!
I'm just glad to hear Matt is beginning to feel better. Keep bugging him about taking care of it until it's fully healed!

Al Kresta's illness and surgery was back in 2003. You can read the news bulletin here. A scary part to this, his wife, Sally, got an infection in her leg, and was hospitalized while Al was still pretty out of it. She was ok (no surgeries required.) Their oldest daughter took over for them and cared for all the younger ones. I think their youngest was a baby or toddler at that time.
Matt's suitemate is great!
It is concerning how something that may seem so innocuous can turn serious so quickly. That hockey player is fortunate!
Thank you Nina, Molly, Maria, Susan, Jane, Tammy, Noreen, Mary, Nancy, KC, Janette, Kym, Tracy, Courtney, Beth, Stef, Ruth, Angela, Rebecca, and Theresa and everyone else who has prayed for Matt!
God Bless,
Stacy in MI
