Oh Ruth,
I'm sorry to hear this. I'm hoping she'll come around. My mom always does. Though she's never antagonistic out loud. She probably thinks it, though. I agree with the idea of screening your calls...especially if you're upset already...

Ruth, like Maria, I know how you feel, oh so know. Very, very hard---it makes you feel so alienated from your own identity and origins and purpose (well, it makes me feel that way....disoriented, questioning) and out at sea.... We must CLING to the Blessed Trinity within us at these times, these arrows being thrown at our hearts. But I know it's hard to do...
Congratulations on your baby and prayers for you and Mom.

My mom wasn't too happy with 7 or 8 but not angry. She gets over it. I'm so sorry you're going through this today. I'll be praying.

Ruth, I'm going to say to you what your mother should have said...
You're expecting again? How wonderful!!! You're such a kind and generous person to be so open to life. Your children are incredibly lucky to have a mother who's so devoted to her role as a mother to welcome each and every child that comes. Bless you!
I'm sorry that you're having to put up with this. I'll be praying that your mother will come to her senses soon.

Wow! Congratulations! You are so blessed!
I am so sorry that your mom didn't react well. I hope you haven't heard negatively from anybody else. You'd think after 6 they'd be used to the idea that you're pregnant again and just get over it. How about the idea that "this is my body, don't tell me what to do with it." Funny how that argument only gets used like a one way street.
