Please pray for our local Priest who is being reprimanded and possibily removed from our parish because many members do not like his homilies which mention sin such as contraception. They also do not think he is expressive or interesting enough in his homilies. He is a holy and humble man that has always been so gentle and charitable in sharing the truth.
Some members have also written to the Bishop complaining about the homeschoolers too.
I am just in shock and feel such sorrow. He has only been a priest for 7 years and has been at the local parish for a year.
UPDATE:
The Bishop has called him into a second meeting on Tuesday. There will be a parish board meeting and then a public parish meeting Wednesday night. It sounds like many people are also upset that the Protestant organist retired because our Priest wanted music played from the Missalettes and not from the Protestant hymnals that the congregation often sang from before he arrived.
If you can, please pray for our Bishop and our holy Priest specifically on Tuesday and Wednesday.

This is such a sad situation. I will definitely pray for your priest and others facing similar challenges.

Oh, this is terribly sad, Nicole. It is also fairly disturbing that these parishioners are so, well, rebellious. I've listened to less than interesting priests before, they've certainly reminded me of things I'd rather not hear (the Truth can be hard to swallow), but God set them before us for a reason. I've never had the cheeck to suggest having a priest removed for those things, much less organise a groups of others to do the same. UGH.
St. Michael, pray for Father! And I will, too!

We will pray for him. What a gift to have a priest who teaches about the sin of contraception from the pulpit.

How sad! We are praying for this priest, and as Mary suggested, for all our religious in similar situations.

Praying here.. Poor priest. Our Parish had a new priest three years ago, and the transition is hard. Everyone has to work at it, not against it!

More prayers for your priest!
We have two wonderfully faithful priests in our area, one of whom was sent to an especially ?progressive? church (the former priest sent a letter to the local major paper supporting a Catholic candidate's pro-abortion stance.) He has had to tread so lightly, and tries to introduce changes one at a time, and so slowly, and he still is getting enormous flack.
We had another priest, years ago, who endured much ridicule and complaints (those who didn't care for him actually videotaped his homilies to send to the bishop to "prove" how "boring" he was! I think the bishop threw the tapes out.) Then when this priest was transferred many years later, well, everyone was so sad and upset, because they thought he was great (which he was!)
It sounds like the parishioners in your church haven't given this young priest a chance. I will pray for them as well, in addition to your priest and bishop.
God Bless,
Stacy in MI
