Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Ruth,

How kind of you to do this! I've been weeding out cooking magazines and hope to try some of their vegetarian choices...I always seem to be blindsided by Lent, for some reason!

One of our former parishes used to hold a post-Ash Wednesday Mass meatless potluck (with recipe swap) so that we could expand our horizons and add to our Lenten recipe collections. (No desserts, of course!) This was great fun...a good beginning to our parish's Lenten journey together.

I hope I'll have something interesting to add to your carnival!
