while waiting for the app to download on my phone we took a nice long walk to the beach (exercise), discussed erosion while throwing rocks in the waves (science) and found a gorgeous crab shell with an amazing range of colors (more science plus nature study). and since it was Ash Wednesday we talked over the start of Lent and the evening's service in a less formal (but probably more helpful for DD) manner.
