Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

What are you making for your husband? We have just made a t-shirt with all 5 kids handprints in fabric paint - and an No1 Dad Iron On Transfer. (it was tough getting the baby's hand - he did not like it and his is a big smudge!!)

The kids are working on their individual gifts/cards

I'm glad you posted this because every time I think about Father's Day ideas all I hear inside my head is.... crickets.

Listening for some good ideas!

Right now I have a grill tools pouch with hand prints on it that says Best Dad Hands Down drying on my school table.

Are you just looking for home made ideas?

We did an inexpensive Digital Photo Frame from this website. My DH complains that he doesn't have enough pictures of us at the office, so I hope this will remedy that.

We did give him a photo calendar last year (maybe not for father's day) and it was a HUGE hit.

I think my DH would also like anything that has to do with Lowe's or Home Depot. But, then again, what man doesnt'?

We saved and saved and found an old aluminum rowboat on craigslist to gift to dh. He is going to have a blast fishing in that with his sons.

on another note: if your dh is into woodworking, this website sells authentic olive wood slabs! I had no idea blanks were available in the US but sometime, I can't wait to buy something for dh to work with. I'm already dreaming of some olive wood candlesticks he can turn out on a lathe.

You can see a picture here. I still have no idea how to link pictures to the forum.

Seriously, there's a theme here. I have an apron for my hubby (he loves to cook and is always searching for one in the kitchen) that I'm going to have the kids put thier handprints on near the bottom and write "hands down, world's best daddy."

Matilda - this is awesome!!! I may steal the idea for next Father's day.

I may post my t-shirt - using a similar caveat to yours so that my dh does not read the post.

We do a handprint t-shirt each time we have a new baby.

Just this morning Jimmy and I decided to make a holy water font. We have a wooden box lid, a Sacred Heart picture that will fit, and a film canister to attach. Sounds a bit naff compared to the ideas here, but we only have a font at the front door and when dh leaves for work he does from the back door as he cycles, and so it will show him that we do at least think about him and his "needs".

Bumping and adding a link. I saw that Crafty Crow blog has lots of great ideas for Father's Day gifts!

I had my boys make a book last year. They had to write their favorite things to do with dad and draw a picture of them doing it together. This was a simple project and I just hole bunched it and tied with ribbon. It could be an all out project including scanning what the kids do and having it actually printed as a book.
