What do you use to wash your face? I am thinking about buying the big jugs of Cetaphil at CostCo.

I used to love Cetaphil cleanser (I got the knock-off at Walmart because it is much cheaper!). But then after getting my first facial ever as an anniversary gift from dh the facialist (LOL, I'm sure there is a better name for her profession, I just don't know it!  ) said I needed a little more "grit". My skin always felt rough and looked blotchy. She recommended anything with some "scrub" to it, *except* the Apris Apricot Facial scrub because she said the stuff they use is very harsh on the face.
All that to say...I have since switched to Loreal "Visibly Clean" foaming facial cleanser. It has little microbeads in it. I use it once a day followed by Walmart's knock off of Oil of Olay oil free moisturizer. My flaky, sensitive, yet oily skin has never looked or felt better!  It's probably been a year since I started doing that and dh *still* comments on how he likes the change. Now, my skin is far from perfect, but this combo has worked better for me than anything I've tried.

I mentioned Paula's Choice in this thread.
For inexpensive but good cleansing, she recommended Cetaphil mixed with a small amount of baking soda. That gives gentle abrasive, but not harsh. She has done much study, and we need to be gentle on our skin. I used that for a long time...but lately I get back breakouts in my chin area, so I am using her own products to keep things down to a gentle rage  . I really recommend you browsing her site and checking out a book or two of hers. She gives reviews of cosmetics, gives routines and suggestions (inexpensive) to what could be good for your skin. I gave myself a facial after reading some articles on Paula's Choice. My ds loved seeing me smothered in my purple mask.
I have been pleased with Aveeno products the past few months. I never had breakouts as a teenager but have had skin problems since visiting Europe in 1993. Go figure, breaking out at 21!
I think I may treat myself to a facial next month b/c they say to try and pamper your skin if your winter months are harsh. I guess Chicago winters would classify as harsh, right?

I use a sugar scrub. It's just superfine sugar or brown sugar, olive and/or coconut oil and whatever essential oil I feel like throwing in. It scrubs and it moisturizes. Cocunut oil also has antibacterial and antifungal properties. My face feels a little slick until I towel dry and then it just feels clean but never tight...
Trader Joe's sells scrubs already made up. Just don't get a salt one...
