Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

My dd is growing taller yet again. This week I have a whole new set of t-shirts that are no longer quite long enough to cover her belly. I have been looking in all the stores for simple t-shirt dresses- she is so picky about what she wears that I hate to pay a lot of money for a dress that might just sit in a closet.

Any way, Karen T suggested that I buy some t-shirts and add matching fabric skirt to make my own dresses. I sent my mom out to buy a couple of test shirts, and they turned out to be too big. That's when it hit me- I could just add a skirt to the cute t-shirts I already have that are just too shirt but fit otherwise. It was a light bulb moment.   Why didn't I think of this sooner???

and you can make nightgowns out of them too depending on your fabric and fullness of the skirt.. shorten the shirt up to just below the underside of the sleeve though.

And you can take the skirt fabric, tear it into strips and tie them around flip flops to make matching sandals too!
