Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Ds(7) will is preparing for First Reconciliation and I am looking for picture books that focus on forgiveness. These need not have a Catholic theme I just want some that demonstrate love and forgiving. Today we read from our Children's Bible. "The Jesus Storybook Bible"Here are two quotes from it:"Does God really love you?"the serpent whispered."If he does, why won't he let you eat the nice, delicious, juicy fruit? Poor you, perhaps God doesn't want you to be happy." ...Eve picked the fruit and ate some...and a terrible lie came into the world. It would never leave. it would live on in every human heart, whispering to everyone of God's children:"God doesn't love me." ..."You see no matter what, in spite of everything, God would love His children; with a never stopping, Never giving Up, Unbreaking, Always and Forever Love."

Anyway hoping someone can help with picture books its getting too warm again for me today and my brain feels fuzzy(than usual!)

thanks
Alison

Nothing is coming to me now - I'll have to think a bit. I know in a Picture Perfect Childhood, Cay has books listed under various virtues and character traits. I don't know it forgiveness is listed but something similar must be. Unfortunately a friend has my copy so I can't look to see what picture books she lists there - hopefully someone can jump in with that info.
