Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

This is my first official post (not counting my intro. several months ago)! My husband does most of the bed time read-alouds and we got so excited about one last night that he said I needed to share it with y'all.

All Paths Lead to Bethlehem
by Patricia & Fredrick McKissack
illustrated by Kathryn E. Shoemaker

I have no idea if you can even buy it on-line or if it's in the library--we got ours used at Goodwill last year. If you do come across it, it is a gem. It tells the story of how Christmas is celebrated throughout the world. Every few pages there is a quote from the nativity in the Gospel of Luke. The pictures are charming and it does a good job of portraying the customs of several different cultures.

I hope some of you are able to find it and enjoy it as much as we do.

Welcome Amanda,

Amazon.com has copies, including some used ones at a very low price.

None of my library systems has it though. Thanks for the suggestion!

OOOH this is a good one -- we got it last year from your library and loved it! Thanks for reminding me -- I'll have to see if I can get it for the week before Christmas!

Blessings all.....

Why can't they have this at the bookstore? I am not going to spend $$ on Sponge Bob, Clifford or Dora Christmas. I was so disappointed in Christmas book displays this year.
