Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

We'll be visiting Boston this fall with dds ages 7.5 and 2.5. Does anyone know of some picture books we could read before our trip? We've got "Make Way for Ducklings" from the library this week. Is there a good picture book version of Paul Revere's Ride?

Sleds on Boston Common – Set in Boston during winter before the Revolutionary War. A fictional but entertaining account of young boys confronting the British soldiers about blocking their sled runs. Based on folklore of the Boston area.

Paul Revere's Midnight Ride - Engaging story of Paul Revere's ride. Gorgeous illustrations by Greg Harlin. Very vibrant with long narrow panoramas that run across both pages.

Other very good versions of Paul Revere:
Paul Revere's Ride
The Midnight Ride of Paul Revere

M is For Mayflower: A Massachusetts Alphabet by Raven

It has a bunch of pages dedicated to Boston, scattered through-out.

We just spent four days in Boston........and MaryM has mentioned our other book we bought there. We bought the Revere book illusrtated by Ted Rand..........I really like that one.

If you can spend a day or two in Plymouth, DO! Your children may like it more than Boston, for their ages. The Plymouth plantation was a big hit with all of the ages of my kids! And the Mayflower, too. Just was TOO hot!! It is only about an hour away form Boston.

Enjoy!
