Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Testing, testing :)

Just wanted to see if I could still start a new topic. :D

But if this works then please do share what you're reading/what you've read this year.

Right now I'm rereading Louis de Wohl's Citadel of God.

Wow- so cool to be posting here again.     I have so missed the dancing banana. Right now I am reading a book called He and I. Anyone ever read it? I found it in a church library discard pile, and- oh, my! It has an imprimatur, and Marai Von Trapp is in the back highly recommending it.

Here is the description from Amazon:

In this timeless spiritual classic, readers share in the profound and touching experience of Gabrielle Bossis, a French nurse and playwright, as she hears the inner voice of Jesus in the core of her being. Recorded in her diary from 1936 to 1950, their tender exchanges capture Jesuss enduring presence in our daily lives, his insistence on serving others with kindness, and his encompassing love for humanity and show that ordinary men, women, and children can experience an intimacy with Christ.

Oh wow, this is great!!!

I am in grad school these days, so I have been reading all things American Revolution all summer. I'm waiting for the books for my fall class to arrive, so I just re-read The Monuments Men and Saving Italy, which are about the British and American artists/curators/conservationists who joined the military during WWII in order to find and save all the works of art the Nazis stole from Europe's most famous museums and from private collections.

I just read The Monuments Men a couple of months ago! Then fell into a complete rabbit hole looking up pictures of all the artwork still missing. Really a fascinating story. Now that our libraries are sort of open again I can request Saving Itlay
