Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I found this wonderful list from SuzanneG in a post from 2010.

What are some of your planned Lenten reads?

I want to finish Flannery O'Connor's The Habit of Being (her collected letters -- they're wonderful). And I'll probably reread In This House of Brede.

Sally

(that's the flavor of my spiritual reading . . . fiction and fiction writers . . . )

I just got a few books that I would like to read:

Abandonment To Divine Providence

Trustful Surrender to Divine Providence

Jesus the Bridegroom

I read this book last year and I am going to try to re-read it this year. It has some great chapters on suffering that I need to revisit.

A Little Book of Eternal Wisdom

I purchased Vinegar Boy for our family read. I think I am going to try The Imitation of Christ by Thomas À Kempis and The Problem of Pain by C.S. Lewis as they have been on my shelf for many moons and have remained untouched.

Blessed Lenten reading, ladies!
