Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I want to start a Bible study that will include friends and family far away. I was wondering if anyone knows anything about "renting" an online chat room for private groups. I don't want just anyone to be able to read our chats but instead have it by invitation only.

I know I could do a Yahoo group, and that would possibly give time for thought before answering, but I'm honestly overwhelmed by my current e-groups.

Another thought I had was conference calls. Does anyone know if Skype or any of the other such services offer conference calls?

Does anyone have any better ideas for ways to set this up? Please?

Loren:
Last year, we had a reunion from college, and a friend of mine set up a "forum" for us to keep in touch. It's:

phpBB communities

I have no idea about any of the details, etc.....just thought I'd throw it out there for you. It's a similar format to what we have here.

There are lots of things like that.

If you have your own webspace and hosting, you can download phpBB for free and use that as a forum like this one. That is what a private group I belong to now does.

Prior to that, we used Aimoo. The customer service there isn't so hot, which is why we moved, but it is generally reliable and affordable to use. Its free if you allow ads, but there is an annual fee otherwise (and there may be more options now--its been a while and has been upgraded since we stopped using it).

My husband's organization uses Groupee, but they are pricier and have a lot more fancy options you may not need.

I don't know the name for many others, but I'm sure you could do a web search and come up with a lot of hits!

Thanks for the ideas. I'm checking the phpBB right now. It looks like it's just about time for me to start my own webpage.
