Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

What do you do to celebrate these?

Hi Cheryl!
Our celebrations are pretty simple. We usually try to attend Mass that day. Dessert is usually a cake or pie of the child's choice, with their baptismal candle lit on top. We all renew our baptismal promises together as that candle is lit and then we sing, "Happy Rebirth-Day to you" and that child blows out the candle. Some years we give a small gift (usually of a religious nature) to that child. Last year I encouraged the siblings to decorate that child's place setting for dinner, and make some homemade cards for her/him.

Hope you have a wonderful time celebrating these days!

We relight the baptismal candle (singing to the person), have a special dessert, and usually give a gift or two.

We have a cake with the relevant number of candles; baptismal candle lit on the table; photo of the baby in christening gown on display; and we invite the godparents to the celebration tea. For a girl we toast her with pink champagne (if possible, sparkling wine from the Mas de la Dame vineyard in Provence ) or regular champagne for a boy.

We specifically don't give gifts and tell the godparents not to as well -- which sounds a bit puritanical, but for our littles (who can be quite, ahem, focused on presents) we want them to focus on the anniversary rather than the gifts. Oh, and we sing 'happy anniversary'.

Cheryl, we celebrate their Baptismal days and have thrown parties the way you would for a birthday. My Angela is fortunate to have been baptised on the feast of All Saints and one year we had an All Saints party with all children coming dressed up with All Saint games and a St Therese cake (her favorite saint) homemade 'all saints' decorations, here are some photos of what the 3 oldest dressed as:

It was the best party ever~!

We always have a cake and usually a religious gift (catholic picture book etc.)

Thanks for your ideas and those pictures are very cute. I have two anniversaries coming up at the end of February. I need to find out the exact dates. I'm going to choose a way to celebrate them for the first time (obviously).
