Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Keep your eyes open for CM titles throughout the year. Twelve Apostles by Marianna Mayer is an out-of-print title...most prices are exhorbitant, but twice now I have seen reasonably priced used copies. There is one on Amazon for $5.00 right now. I find I have to keep checking to see if new stock comes around. Cay recommends this book for Pentecost, but I find it's also a great title for the other feasts of the Apostles throughout the year.

I am also on the hunt. Our church had its big annual bazaar today, and there is always a big used book tent. But with hundreds of books of all kinds for sale, there was only ONE very small box of religious books for sale, and none of the titles I'm looking for

I just got my copy of CM in the mail last week... wow. It is beautiful, even in b&w, and what a great resource. Thanks, Cay!

Yes, because Mayer's books tend to be wordy picture books this book need not be read in one sitting but can be taken one apostle at a time if you wish to focus individually throughout the year. Catholic Mosaic offers the calendar dates for each apostles feast day so you don't have to go flipping through your calendar pages looking for those dates.

SeaStar, I truly hope you and your dc enjoy the year. You got your copy just in time to start the new church year. It's coming quickly upon us...Dec. 3.

Anyone dissatisfied with their past attempts? Now is the time to start fresh.

Which is why I decided to go ahead and purchase the B&w version on Friday. I'm really looking forward to using Catholic Mosaic w/the kids. So many times I have good intentions to celebrate the liturgical year more in depth which fall by the wayside. I'm hoping that having the book will inspire me to use it as part of our curriculum.
