Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Does anyone know if there is a catholic magazine for children that reports on current events in the world...?? Thinking on the same line as God's World.
Thanks,
Sue

I don't know of a magazine like that (but will be checking this thread again to see if anyone else does!) but I just started a "Current Events" basket. I have a small basket that I keep on the bookshelf in the dining room, and I've started cutting out articles that the kids can read on their own. So far, I've taken a few things from our local paper, something from (I think) Our Sunday Visitor, and a short bit from a magazine of mine.

I know this can be labor-intensive and isn't what you're looking for, and I have to confess that I've not done much with this so far, but it's a start for me, anyway.

Karen we do something similar with clipped articles (though I love the idea of a basket!). I find between the local papers, Time, Newsweek and OSV there are many kid-appropriate articles to share.

I used to have them on a bulletin board. This year my aim was to paste them in a notebook each week and then have the boys write a comment or two about "the week that was." So far all I've done is shown them the articles and then filed them away into our folders!

Sorry I didn't answer your question, Sue! I would love to find something like you describe too.

Sue,

I just posted a website on this thread that may help you:

Be Not Afraid: A Catholic Editorial on Catholic Events

Hope this helps!
