Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I was just wondering today if the Mass translation changes had any effect on the prayers of the rosary?
We pray the rosary here in English most of the time. Mass is always German and some Latin.
Anyone?

I don't think any changed, Stephanie. The translation was directed at the Missale Romanum, which is only the Mass, and the Our Father wasn't changed at all.

The Apostles Creed changed. I am not sure about Hail Holy Queen. I am still saying the old words. Otherwise, I think it is the same!

It was the Nicene Creed that changed (or actually, went back to what it SHOULD be), but the Apostles Creed is an option for some Masses (like children's) but it has not changed.

When we got our new translation books, it had a new translation of the Apostles Creed in it. It wasn't filled with a lot of changes, but there were some. This is what we received:

I believe in God the Father Almighty, creator of Heaven and Earth,
And in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord,
Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
Born of the Virgin Mary
Suffered under Pontius Pilate
Was crucified, died and was buried.
He descended into Hell.
On the third day he rose again from the dead.
He ascended into Heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty.
From there, he will come again to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the Holy Catholic Church,
the Communion of Saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and life everlasting.
Amen.

It was just part of our new translation that we got. Maybe it differs between the dioceses. The changes were very minor so I don't truly think it matters!

Funny thing, but I say it that way except "From there" I say "From thence". I don't know if it was changed, or just different from what you are used to?

This was just a handout we were all given with the old words and the new words. It had the entire mass and then the Apostles Creed. Maybe in WV, we have just been saying the wrong words for years....

I'm really confused. Did the Apostle's Creed change, or didn't it?

Yeah, me, too. Maybe it was all those years of Episcopalian schooling I had? I think this is the way I said it there. It's an older version of the. Creed. I always preferred "from thence" to "from there"!

Growing up Episcopal, I find myself now saying, "And with thy spirit," instead of "And with your spirit." I couldn't figure out why I kept saying that, until I looked at my old Book of Common Prayer. I was surprised to see how many of the changes seemed to fit in with what I was used to saying. But, even though I know the changes, I have slipped up...yesterday I made it all the way through without saying, "And also with you." A new record!
Now if I could just figure out which Mystery of Faith our choir is singing! With the change in the music, I'm having a tough time. I like to see the music portion, too, but we only have the new words, not the new music. I'm one confused person!

In Christ,
