Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Every Christmas season there is a thread running about how long you keep your tree standing...now I am asking about Easter eggs still hanging on branches and such what...Do you keep your Easter theme running until after the Feast of Pentecost? or do you change something physically between Ascension and Pentecost? or something totally different?
In May I added a blue cloth and a statue of Mary to our flower wreath with eggs. The Easter candle has maybe an inch of life left, but it is still there. Spring branches and flowers are renewed again and again, which will continue as it is spring. But what differences do you make for Pentecost, Corpus Christi???
It is exciting to notice how the Catholic traditions are growing and deepening year for year in our family life. I am sometimes flabbergasted by everything I have yet to learn, yet not dismayed.

One thing I do.. is I have a Cross with a risen Corpus that hangs on the wall in place of our Crusifix during Easter. Just a little reminder of the season. and since I switch it with the Crusifix it doesn't add "clutter" or anything.

I've put away most of my Easter reminders because I am trying to clean up before a major change we're having coming up soon. I have my Alleluia sign on the mantle (glitter gold on a wood background).

I'm sad to put it away.

I have some Marian reminders for May -- blue tablecloth, small statue, flowers in front of Our Lady.

I don't usually decorate differently for the Ascension, but Pentecost I bring out the red. My son thinks this is an awesome feast -- and it is -- but I mean it's very appealing to a young boy.

I also try to display some art near our dinner table that relates to the liturgical feast. That really is helpful.

Thank you for sharing, Jodie and Jenn.

It's funny, Jenn, that Pentecost is so appealing to your son. 3 years ago, my youngest dd was ready to run out of church truly afraid that tongues of fire would be descending upon us. She only connected FIRE with Pentecost and she was actually shaking! She is now 6 and is big now of course , and is no longer afraid of Pentecost

I'm sure it wasn't funny then, but it is now looking back. I think most boys like fire.

It's such a visual and auditory feast day! The sound like rushing wind, and tongues like fire, and the apostles rushing out and preaching -- it's exciting!
