Aw, it's the end of the day and I missed his 83rd birthday (April 16).
But on the 19th is the 5th anniversary of his election. The 24th is the anniversary of his papal inauguration Mass.
Prayers for Our Holy Father, especially now as more attacks are being levelled against him.

I'm right with you, Jenn. My dd's "godbrother" (son of her godparents) shares a birthday with the Holy Father, so I did remember his special day, but I'm glad for the reminders of the other two dates.
I truly believe that Pope Benedict XVI is one of our greatest Popes. It's a privilege to pray for him and for his intentions.

Our prayer group has been passing around a card for him. I think that was a thoughtful thing for them to do.
How important we wrap him in love and prayer during these days!

I got to hear Father Fessio speak tonight  and he prayed for our dear Holy Father tonight on the occasion of his birthday. I think the anniversary of his election to the papacy is the 19th, right?
He told us tonight that the Holy Father's mother had him on Holy Saturday and was at Mass by 8:30 the next day with him, what a perfect time for this holy man's birth! He is such a beloved papa!

Here is a prayer novena for Pope Benedict, being promoted by the Knights of Columbus. I think I've read somewhere that we can join in a novena at any time...it's the prayers that are most important, not their number or timing.
SPREAD THE WORD AND PRAY FOR OUR HOLY FATHER.

The Knights of Columbus is promoting a novena for Pope Benedict XVI, beginning Divine Mercy Sunday, April 11, and concluding Monday, April 19, the fifth anniversary of the Holy Father’s election in 2005.

Lord, source of eternal life and truth; give to your shepherd, Benedict, a spirit of courage and right judgment, a spirit of knowledge and love.
