Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

My oldest wants to start reading the CCC next year (she's finishing up the St. Joseph Baltimore Catechism #2 this year).

I've looked about and found a few materials for studying the CCC (The Companion to the Catechism of the Catholic Church and the Living the Catechism of the Church series by Cardinal Christoph Schönborn) which I think I could benefit from while going through the CCC with my daughter but I'm wondering if there is anything my we can use as a study guide. Not a catechism based on the CCC but something that would be a further explanation and discussion of the text of the CCC.

How about This is the Faith by Leo Trese?

ETA: Ooops! The title of the book is The Faith Explained by Fr. Leo Trese. There is another book entitled This is Our Faith, it looks good and I actually have it here, but I haven't read it yet and so can't really recommend it. Maybe someone else has read it? Sorry about the confusion...the memory is not so great !

You might want to look at

We are enjoying it here.

What a neat resource Ann. It might be an answer to prayer. We've been floundering in our attempt to read and memorize the various Baltimore Catechisms. I have a child in the #2, the #1 and the "First Communion" versions. I was looking for a way that we could all do this together. I think this website will be a great thing!

Wow, Anne, thanks for sharing that link! It is really great...I'm definitely going to use that to "spice up" our catechism study.

By the way, there is, in fact, a book published by TAN entitled .This is the Faith. It's more in-depth than Fr. Trese's book and a lot longer. HTH.

Our family has enjoyed reading the CCC on its own, without additional material, via this format.

Love,
