Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

the good deed beads as described in Saint Therese and the Roses by Helen Walker Homan?

St. Therese's mother made her beads and she was to move one bead along (???) when she had made a sacrifice for the Infant Jesus.

I think this is such a wonderful idea. I would love to make or buy something similar. Any suggestions as to how or where to start?

Tricia.

Here is the adress for a website with directions for making sacrifice or good deed beads.

http://thelittleways.com/

It appears they also sell kits for making them and ready-made versions. Sacrifice beads are pretty simple to make and are a lovely tool for helping children and adults remember to practice virtuous deeds.

We made them with the 17 or so second graders in the CCD (PSR?) class we taught this year. We just used string and pony beads, and I am sure that if DH and I could get those 17 kids to all make them properly in the half hour we had, you will be fine making them with your kids My kids made them and carry them around when they remember. I should make a set for myself, I could use the reminder as well.

Thanks so much.
I guess we'll have a go at making them. How hard can it be?
Tricia.
