Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

-There is a new batch of clothespin Saints (Benedict the Moor, Blessed Kateri, Dang Luc of Korea, Hermione of Egypt and Rose of Lima, and St GEorge) up at
     http://fourpluspets.com/
(I don't know why I can't get it to turn blue and link!)
including detailed instructions.
We have gotten sidetracked- we are now working on Mary clothespins- Mary in all of her beautiful guises. We have started Our Lady of Gaudalupe, and OL of FAtima and OL of Lourdes. Can you suggest some other appearances that we should learn about?
This May we will host a "Holy Mother tea party" for our friends (moms and daughters)
We are making a centerpiece out of all the Mother Mary cards we can find. We will have assembled the dolls and the clothes peices will be cut out, so that our guests can assemble and decorate their dolls, which is fast and really fun.
Do any of you talented ladies have any suggestions for us? Music? Food- obviously we are going with dainty, pretty, girly food I think tiny bluebarry tarts for something blue. A movie to play?
I have learned that anything we pursue to help our children live their faith has ripples of grace, even if the activity isnt a "success".
I originally thought we would make these pins as gifts for younger cousins and friends, what I hadn't expected is how much we would learn. My daughters (9 and 12)have spent intense delighted HOURS learning about the apparitons. Overhearing their discussions has made my heart glow
Min- (12) "Hmm, roses on her feet... I wonder when they started using roses to symbolise Mary? Let's google that"
Cricket- 9- "Nope, they arent real roses- they are GOLDEN roses, becasue she is a queen."
and my personal favorite
(Min)"I think we need to make OLG with darker skin, since she was Mexican."
(Me just being curious)- "She looked Hispanic?"
(Cricket) slowly since her mother is obviously cognitively infirm, "If you are Mexican, your mother is Mexican"
We are a trans racial family- Min is Tibetan, so it just glows me all over to think of the HOly Mother in all her guises seeking ALL of her children.

I'm enjoying all these. I appreciate the detailed instructions, also.

I think maybe I should focus on making some of these during our Easter season. It would be a lovely project.
