Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

For our homeschool park day, we're going to have the Stations of the Cross outside. I wanted to put stakes in the ground for each section, but can't find them. And I can't hang up pictures because the park is always a bit breezy.

Yikes. I need a little inspiration here from any creative gals. This idea was mine but I hadn't thought it out very thoroughly before I suggested it.

Has anyone done anything like this before? For, like, not a lot of money?

Here was our hs group's outdoor Way of the Cross two years ago.

We used our retreat center's grounds which already had the station markers.

We had no practice ahead of time. Simply put the children in make-shift costume and follow stations.

It's all good.

Tray a garden or hardware store for plant stakes. You can staple pictures to the wooden ones.

Maria, do you have Lent and Easter in the Domestic Church? I just noticed they have instructions (and illustrations) to make your own Shrine stations with popsicle sticks, very similar to Illuminated Ink's Stations of the Cross Grotto Kit. You can use similar images like these or here

I agree with Loren, you can find stakes of various sizes at a garden store (locally Southern States would be perfect) and attach them to that.

We have made the popsicle stick grottos and if you decorate them with aquarium gravel they end up being pretty heavy. Not too heavy, but enough to withstand a breeze. Maybe even a stiff one. You can see one for Our Lady of Lourdes here.

Maria, What did you end up making?

And if someone wanted to have pretty rocks like the Illuminated Ink stations, where can you find them?
