Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

DD: Why can't I see my angel?
Me: Because angels don't have bodies.
DD: Oh. Do they have blood cells?
Me: No, no blood cells either.
DD: Oh. So are they nudie?

Oh, Sara! How cute!

When my oldest dd was two, she wanted to know why angels/devils etc. didn't wear diapers/underwear etc (yes, theology and potty training had collided). I explained the whole body/spirit thing, but didn't expect her to understand.

Imagine my astonishment when she was looking over a doll catalog that had come to our house (how do they find us, I wonder?) and after staring intently at the dolls for several minutes, she looked up and pronounced confidently: "Body. Nooooooo spirit."
