Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I had to change the title to fit it to the subject line!

Has anyone read this book or heard anything about it? It is racing through our parish like wildfire. Currently my MIL is reading it, and wants to loan it to me when she is finished.

I haven't heard a thing about it, but a google on it came up with some very intriguing things. Here is a little blurb about it, and here is it at the Barnes and Noble site.

Now I want to read it!

I read some of the reviews on Amazon and several stated that Catholics shouldn't read the book!

Those reviews would be making that statement due to the fact that the book is based on the alledged apparitions at Medjugorje which have not been recognized authoritatively by the Church.

For the sake of discussion on the board we recognize the many paths to conversion and holiness, we would like to encourage the discussion of fully approved apparitions of Our Lady and shy away from those without authoritative pronouncements of the Church.

I went to Catholic Answers and searched this. Here is a thread I found on it.

I hope this link helps!

I had no idea the book was like that. I'll have to talk to my MIL. Thanks for the heads up!

Seconding Paula. Thanks Mary! That is one reason I love 4real forum. There always is someone who has knowledge in something I might otherwise impulsively jump into!
