Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Does anyone have this book and what do you think about it?

Yes, we have it. The stories were all written between 1959 and 1964, save for one from 1970. They are good stories to use when explaining different morals or values. Similar to stories in Treasure Box books, but meatier. My kids really like the stories.

Sadly that book is out of print again! Bookfinder has a few copies. My siblings and I grew up on this book and absolutely loved it. But we loved the original illustrations, which were changed in 1996 (?) I think.

The stories are good. If you read them aloud they are a bit awkward, not the most well-written book, but the stories are memorable and teach wonderful lessons. B. Benny Bumpkin, Mean Until..., The Blown Around Room, are some of the titles.

My ds7 loves these stories.... we read one aloud sometimes for our devotion time - I find some of the scenarios a bit odd, but ds loves for me to read them, so I guess it takes a child's mind to fully appreciate them.

His favorite (and mine) is the Christmas one where they learn that love is what really matters - and to be thankful for what you do have - eyes to see, ears to hear etc....
