I just discovered a new product that I'm really impressed with. I describe it on my blog.http://myhomeschool101.blogspot.com/
The Good News website doesn't do the Teacher Planner justice, nor the inserts!!Good News website The paper copy of their catalog does a much better job at describing it. It's going to fit perfectly with my liturgical year planning!!!

Do you have a seperate planner for everday life (dr's appts, outside activities, etc) or does this work for that as well as for school? I am using the family centered calendar this year. Do you know how it compares?

WOW! It does sound perfect. I think I need one for myself and some student ones. They are really well-priced--and a planner with an imprimatur

I just received one of these for myself and older dd, and can't wait for August when the planner pages start! I got her the Primary one, and it has SO many resources and little extras, like vocabulary word of the week based on the readings and notes about the saints. The teacher book is great, and my dh will probably steal it to get ideas for his CCD class. I love having resources based on the weekly readings and liturgical season. It also has "lesson plan" pages in the teacher book, which can totally replace what I've been using (Donna Young forms).
The one big drawback for us, though, was that shipping cost almost as much as the books. For one teacher book and one primary book, it was almost $20. If you can put together a bigger order with a local homeschool group or even a couple of families, that might be a better option.

Woohoo! Just what I was looking for, something nice for the budget and something that the kids can have too. I always make my own for each dc, but it's so tiresome, this price makes it nice to just give each kiddo their own! I'm sure it'll be more exciting to look at then the ones I make...so maybe they'll actually look at it

I use Outlook for our family's schedule -- although I do put the kids' co-op classes, gym classes, etc into their (and my) planners. I write those in first so I don't overschedule school for a day that we have other committments. I guess it would depend on how busy your family is and how small you write! 
The far right column in the kids' planner is for spelling words (which is why I was originally looked at this planner), I use it for poems they're memorizing if we're not doing spelling that week (yes, we don't do spelling each week, it's an "extra" in our school  ) The column to the left of that (the next-to-far right column) is blank and you could use that for activities for the day if you wanted...

I agree. Last year I paid for shipping and learned my lesson. This year I sent out an e-mail to several people that I was placing an order and had 3 other families who ordered with us. Our order came to ~$60 and shipping was $13 for a total of ~$74 and it was much easier to justify over 4 families.

Last night I did a trial run of check out and saw that $8 ground shipping and $3 handling plus almost a dollar tax -- whew! Any local friends interested in going in together?

Wow, these look fantastic! I have to decide though how/if it'll work for our needs. I've been thinking of going to a weekly format for lessons/assignments, rather than daily, as one page per day is a LOT of paper, and I want to conserve, and use keys for books, etc. The problem is we use so many resources. But I'm thinking of journaling by day if I need to as well, and maybe this will be the ticket. Hmmmm.....
I'm not sure the Jr.High/High will work for our oldest, in 11th next year, as the busyness of it may be a distraction for him. I'll have to consider what to do.....These do look great!

OK, thanks SO much, Jenn. I appreciate you taking the time to tell us about these planners. I had the kids take a look at them, and Sarah liked it, and Zach said, as long as it works, he doesn't care what it looks like. 
After reading your blog, I figured out that using one teacher's planner would work, because I will do as you said, and just write in daily what *I* have to do for school! What a GREAT concept, and one that will keep me MUCH better organized! THANKS SO MUCH!!!!

Oh dear, I'm having problems figuring out what would be the most convenient way to do this! I wasn't exactly volunteering, but if someone can give suggestions on a good way to do this without having to put forward a intial amount of cash.....and my paypal accont is giving me fits lately.

Jenn...See what happens when you have a good idea. Actually I had been planning on posting to see if folks wanted to get together, but your suggestion beat me to it.
So I totally don't mind coordinating!
Anyone in the No.VA area interested pm me. You don't have to decide right away, just let me know if you want "in" and then I'll send out a group email over the weekend or so and let you know when we'll do all the ordering!
Hey I think if we get enough, we'll get a bulk discount too right, besides helping out those shipping costs?!?!?!!
